FAQ
Answers to common painting questions
Do you do free estimates?+
Yes – every estimate is free, in-home, and comes with a clear written quote within 48 hours.
How quickly can you start?+
Most projects can be scheduled within 1–3 weeks. Urgent or commercial jobs can usually be fit in sooner – call us to check.
What paint do you use?+
We use Dulux paints across our projects. The exact line and sheen for your job are confirmed in your written quote.
Do you specialise in popcorn ceiling removal?+
Yes – this is one of the things we get asked for most. We scrape, skim and refinish popcorn ceilings into smooth, modern ceilings, then paint to match. It instantly updates a room and adds noticeable value to the home.
Can you refinish a ceiling without a full remove and redo?+
Often, yes. If the texture is intact we can clean, prime and refinish in place. If it's damaged, stained or dated popcorn, removal and a fresh smooth finish is usually the better long-term result – we'll walk you through both options in your quote.
Do you offer a warranty?+
Yes – we back our workmanship for 2 years on interior and 3 years on exterior projects.
Do I need to move my furniture?+
No. We protect and move everything for you and put it back exactly how it was.
How long does interior painting take?+
A typical 3-bedroom home is 3–5 working days depending on scope and colour changes.
Do you paint cabinets?+
Yes – we sand, prime and spray cabinets with cabinet-grade enamels for a smooth, factory-style finish.
What areas do you serve?+
All of Greater Calgary including Airdrie, Cochrane, Chestermere and Okotoks.
How do I pay, and when?+
We accept e-transfer, cheque and major credit cards. A small deposit confirms your booking, with the balance due on completion after your final walkthrough.
Do you offer colour consultation?+
Yes. We can help narrow down colour choices, recommend sheens for each surface and provide sample pots for you to test on the wall before committing.
Can you paint in winter?+
Interior – yes, year-round. Exterior – we work within product temperature minimums, so most exteriors are scheduled mid-May through late September in Calgary.
Do you handle commercial projects?+
Yes. We paint offices, retail, tenant improvements and strata common areas. Most commercial work is scheduled after-hours or on weekends so your day-to-day isn't disrupted.
Do you offer handyman services?+
Yes – we tackle small repairs, installs and maintenance items as part of our handyman service, often bundled with a paint job to save you a separate trip charge.
What if I'm not happy with the finish?+
We do a walkthrough together before we pack up. If anything isn't right, we fix it on the spot. Our workmanship warranty covers you after that.
Are your products low-VOC?+
Yes – the interior lines we use are low- or zero-VOC for low odour and safer indoor air quality, especially important for families and pets.
Do you do small jobs like a single room or accent wall?+
Absolutely. No job is too small. Many of our repeat customers started with a single accent wall or feature ceiling.
Will the same crew be on my project every day?+
Yes. One of the brothers is on-site every day on every project, with the same trusted crew from start to finish.
Can you match an existing paint colour?+
Yes – we can colour-match from an existing wall, a chip or a previous can label so your touch-ups and repaints blend seamlessly.
How much does popcorn ceiling removal cost?+
It's priced per square foot and depends on ceiling height, condition and whether you want a full smooth refinish after. We give you a flat written quote up front so there are no surprises – just call or request an estimate and we'll come take a look.
Why is popcorn ceiling removal worth doing?+
Popcorn ceilings date a home fast, trap dust, and can make rooms feel lower and darker. Removing them and finishing smooth is one of the highest-impact, best-ROI upgrades you can do before painting – buyers and guests notice immediately.
Is it cheaper to paint yourself or hire professional painters?+
Short answer: sometimes yes, sometimes no. For a small room, touch-ups, or if you genuinely enjoy DIY, painting it yourself can absolutely make sense. But most people underestimate prep work, materials and equipment, the time commitment, getting clean lines and consistent finishes, and all the moving furniture, masking, sanding, repairs and cleanup. By the time you've bought supplies, spent a few weekends on the project, and dealt with unexpected issues, the cost gap isn't always as big as people expect. Professional painters aren't just applying paint – we're handling prep, repairs, product selection, finishes and getting the job done efficiently. If you're still deciding, that's completely fair. Tell us about your project and we'll help you understand your options – whether it's a quick DIY-friendly room or a larger project where hiring painters may save you time, stress and money.
