How To Prepare Your Home Before Painters Arrive

March 30, 2026|4 min read

A little prep before our crew arrives saves time, money and stress. Here's exactly what helps.

Clear Wall-Hung Items

Take down photos, art, mirrors and wall shelves in the rooms being painted. Patching is on us – but emptying the walls is on you.

Move Fragile Items

Anything irreplaceable should be moved out of the work area. We'll handle the furniture.

Decide on Colours Early

Have final colours selected before day one. Last-minute changes can push timelines and may carry a small fee.

Plan for Pets and Kids

Paint fumes are low-VOC but it's still smart to plan a quiet space away from the work for the day.

Identify Repairs Up Front

Tell us about leaks, soft spots or known damage before we start. Surprises mid-project cost more than known ones quoted up front.

If this applies to your place, our interior painting in Calgary page covers what's included, and our process explains how a project runs from estimate to walkthrough. Ready for a number? Request a free estimate.

Ready to start your project?

Tell us about your space and we'll put together a clear, honest estimate - no pressure, no obligation.
